Action Q!!

So with Grandpa being gone, Momma being useless (also known as pregnant), Daddy not wanting to take him, and Grandma only sometimes making up for the rest of us slackers, Q-Butt is going nuts!

As a second best effort, I play with him inside quite a bit. Thought I'd share some of our fun silliness and silly shots! <3

Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Been a big time for us! Mostly because there's a baby on the way, we're going through a bunch of changes! From Grandma and Granpa's end (my parents), the baby I think was only the final nudge- they'be been wanting some of these changes a long time!

So, what all has been going on, you ask? Or, even if you don't, I'm gonna tell ya anyway. ; )

First, I hacked my hair off! I wanted to get it cut before summer anyway, and with the baby on the way, decided to do it before she was born. Then, decided I should treat myself to a little more, just becaues it's gonna be crazy when she gets here! Which, in my mind, was a manicure, eye brow wax, and massage. Unfortnately, with the cost of things, I nixed the massage... Darn! So was gonna do all that just before she was born. But then, some one reminded me that I have the baby shower coming up (invites have gone out, by the way, so be on the look out!!), so I really should do myself up before that- why not, since I'll be the center of attention anyway, right? So decided to do it the weekend before that, which is the 6th. But... That weekend's busy... Then my mom got her new job (congrats!!), which starts THIS Monday (2/22), so she decided to get done up before that... So I decided, I may was well go, too! Two weekends earlier than I intended, but I didn't really want to wait anyway. ; ) Not sure the eyebrows or mani will last 3 weekends, but we shall see! Of course, since I cut off so much, I do intend to donate it! Just haven't yet, hmm...

And then, the other change! The Grandma and Grandpa related change! They've gone and started a huge over haul of their house- my childhood home and, really, second home still! Partially because the baby's on the way, partially because a lot of really needed to be done, partially because they could, and partially becaues they just plain wanted to! If you guys have other reasons, let me know! So, they are getting their master bath redone, though that's the ONE thing we haven't started yet, redoing the siding on the house and therefore the paint, redoing the floors throughout (except the bedrooms), repainting inside since the stuff is moved anyway, and installing a really nice gas fireplace insert.

So far, these are the stats:

My prettification- done!
Mom's prettification- done! (though no pics, those are up to her!)
Bathroom- not started (planned for 2/25)
Siding / painting- almost done
Floor- done except for putting stuff back, which will wait till the inside paint is done
Inside painting- not started
Fireplace- just barely started

30 Weeks, 6 Days, and an ultrasound!

I had my follow up U/S today! And we are looking good!! To quote the doc, she is "growing appropriately", and my placenta has moved!! So no c-section because of that, anyway. Yay!

She is still breech... Her head is on my right, just above my belly button; spine down my right side, and butt right on my cervix! And her feet are right by her head, so also right at my belly button, little contortionist!

So while it's all good news, I am a little disappointed that, one, we didn't get any secondary confirmation she's a girl- with her butt so low, all we could see was mush! And, tech wouldn't do a 3D... Makes me sad, since the other one did so I know they CAN do it, she just wouldn't! Oh well, she was really nice otherwise. :)

I will have yet another follow up ultrasound about 36 - 37 weeks, to check her position, because she is breech now. I'm not worried about her moving- she has plenty of time!- and any excuse to see my baby again has a bright side! And, she weighs about 1436 grams, which is about 3.17 lbs, and seems to be right on track. Yay!

And, here are my darling's latest pics!! We may not have got any 3D pics of her, but we got some really good regular ones. Tech said that she is gorgeous and adorable.

Happy Valentine's Weekend 2010!

Happy Valentine's Weekend to all! We've had a good one! As my last post showed, we went to the beach on Saturday- can't get better than that for the dogs! Weather was nice that day; kind of yucky Sunday- it cleared up a little, but never got nice; and gorgeous today!

For Valentine's Day itself, we had Jonathan (or "Johnatin", as Starbucks decided to call him!) and Lauren over for games! That was fun- we played Small World and Flea Circues. I got CREAMED in Small World, but managed to win- by a decent amount!- at leat one game of Flea Circus, hehe. Brian can tell you how he did- sorry honey, I forget your stats!

Though Brian decided not to do anything for Valentine's Day, well, he did anyway! You stinker. <3 He got me a box of choclate- no I mean a BOX MADE OF CHOCOLATE, filled with chocolate... Mmm...

And a very sweet card! Thanks babe!

Unfortunately, since he said not to do anything, I didn't do anything for him... But I did at least get him some yummy candies! So at least I thought of him some. And love you lots!!

And since the weather was so nice, we all went for a walk at the helipad today! Wasn't quite as good as the beach if you ask the dogs, but we all had fun!

Back to the Beach!

You've got to love California and our little mini February summer! Despite being traditionally winter, today, Feb 13th, was a beautiful day so we all went to the beach! All 5 of us- Brian, Peach, Quincy, me and Maiya- went to Ft Funston and had a blast!

It was 63 according to our Prius, a little hazey but sunny, and almost no wind. It was perfect, considering how warmly we dressed. Best of all, Peach wasn't limping hardly at all from the nasty dog attack any more, and Quincy played so much and had so much fun that he actually slept the entire way home!

We had an amazing day. <3

Maiya's first time to see the sun!

Our little girl is getting big! According to everything I've read, she can now not only "see" light in the most literal sense (eyes pick it up), but her brain can register "this is light" and she can react to it and look at it! Yup, her eyes are open and she can "look" towards things!

So, with that in mind, I say that today is the first time Maiya got to see the sun!! Since it's the first time I've been out in the bright sunlight (not cloudy and mucky like it has been!) since she's reached this developmental milestone.

I even went so far as to lift my shirt while out on the walk so she can see it brighter and feel it's warmth stronger!

Of course, not that she recognized it as "the sun" as opposed to "just another bright light", but oh well! She will learn that eventually. <3

Clean year, clean house

So its a new year, we're pleasantly expecting our new arrival, new furniture/accessories, etc. Along with all that's new, the house gets a new look - in an old way. What better way to spend your holiday Monday than cleaning right?! Well hold on there... I didn't say I was doing the cleaning...

Merry Christmas 2009!

Merry Christmas to all!! <3

This year's Christmas was wonderful, as usual! We had Kevin and Sara and Shade make it over from Utah and were able to spend a lot of time with both my family and Brian's. Many great gifts were given and received, and fun times were had by all!

Shade and Quincy were so thrilled to see each other again and played and played... Peach wasn't so thrilled at all the playing as the puppies were, and Evie was left contently at home so as not be disturbed by them! Though we did make sure to spend time at night with her, and she wasn't forgotten in the gift giving! Plus, she's been SO cuddly and loving and glued to me that she definitely gave her gift. <3

And, honestly, while I loved everything everyone gave me, I have to say the best gift of all was being kicked! Little Maiya, as her name is likely to be, is getting so big and strong! I feel her quite often- real good solid kicks! Or punches or rolls or whatever the heck it is she's doing in there, hah. She even gave her Daddy the same gift, and he got to feel her a LOT over the last few days. He's so cute! I have the best husband ever, and Maiya is SO lucky to have him as a Daddy! He's been so cute, feeling her as often as he can, and talking to her, and taking such good care of me! <3

Speaking of baby... My latest stats floor me! I have gained 8 inches in the waist, for a total of 36 inches! And, the truly mind boggling part... I've gained SIXTEEN pounds, for a total of 144!!! This is the MOST I've ever weighed in my entire life. Until I got pregnant, the most I ever weight was 60 kilos (while I was in Japan, can you tell??), or, if my conversions are correct, 132 pounds. I am now TWELVE pounds over that! Whew!

So it was really a great Christmas... Good times, good fun, good family, and good baby news!! <3
