Clean year, clean house

So its a new year, we're pleasantly expecting our new arrival, new furniture/accessories, etc. Along with all that's new, the house gets a new look - in an old way. What better way to spend your holiday Monday than cleaning right?! Well hold on there... I didn't say I was doing the cleaning...
So the wife decided to spend the day in the office finishing up on work she'd rather do in peace and quiet and well, for me I'm not exactly the model citizen for a clean and tidy home but I manage to keep a few areas relatively clutter free (such as my desk, no surprise there). So we had cleaners come in and clean the house top to bottom, and a carpet cleaner do the stairs and bedrooms since we have no carpet downstairs. All in all it was pleasant, except for the breakers popping because they didn't want to run extension chords to different plugs on different circuits. Expensive yes, my wife will tell you it was worth every penny, I'm happy, just not happy to be spending that much on cleaning. Then again... if we're not going to do it, and someone feels it must be done, then well, break out the wallet.
At least it is done, the house is clean (we'll see for how long), and I got to enjoy 8 hours of a pet free house while it all aired out. I can only hope that we can keep the house moderately clean at least until our new family member decides to crash on in for the next 18+ years =)
I know, you didn't mind the filthy house and would rather spend the money on toys, but like you said, since we weren't doing it, this is the only way to get it done!

I know this is sort of late to sending this out, but your house looks beautiful, and it smelled so nice a fresh! Personally, I say it was worth it. Nothing like a nice clean house!!!
